Vivo Nex : The Truly Bezzel-less Phone, What All is Expected!

Vivo has made it official that it will be launching its flagship NEX smartphone today in China. The smartphone is said to be the commercial variant of the Vivo Apex, which the company had showcased at MWC 2018. It was the company s first truly bezel-less smartphone that featured an in-display finger print sensor.

As expected, we ve seen plenty of rumors around the phone’s specifications and features. The most recent one has suggested that the phone will be coming in three variants dubbed Vivo NEX, NEX S, and the NEX A. Of the three, the last two are expected to be slightly toned-down versions, featuring a Snapdragon 710 SoC. Following the Vivo Apex, all the NEX variants are expected to feature bezel-less screens with a screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent. There is also said to be a in-display finger print sensor and a pop-up front camera.

Vivo NEX specifications and features

Based on rumors, the high-end Vivo NEX is expected to come with a Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. The NEX S, on the other hand, is expected to come with Snapdragon 710, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. There hasn t been much word on the NEX A s RAM and storage configuration. The NEX and NEX S have also been hinted to come with 6.59-inch Full HD + (1080×2316 pixels) display with no bezels or notch. However, other rumors have also suggested the NEX S to feature a 6.01-inch display.

In the optics department, a dual-rear camera setup is suspected, consisting of a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The pop-up front camera is noted to be 8-megapixel, and will be likely be supporting AI as well. Underneath the hood, the phones are likely to be powered by a 4,000mAh battery, and will be running Android 8.1 Oreo layered by FunTouch OS 4.0. There is no word on the pricing and availability, but we will know that once Vivo launches the smartphones today.
